Mediator 5 Pro

If you have Mediator 5.03 (Printed on the CD-ROM disc), the service pack is already included and you should not apply service pack 1.

Note: It is highly recommended to backup your MD8 files before you start using Mediator with a new service pack.

Note: If you get a message that a file is old or corrupted during the installation of a service pack, please reinstall Mediator and then apply the service packs again. (Re-apply Service Pack 1 first, and then proceed with Service Pack 2.)

Service Pack 1

IMPORTANT: If you have applied Service Pack 1 Beta 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 you must uninstall Mediator and then reinstall it before applying Service Pack 1.

Service Pack 2

As you can see the size of this service pack release has gone up. This is because the plug-in is included and because we have implemented code to use text anti-aliasing always if available on the computer. Some Windows 95 first editions do not have the code for it. Although this should be less than 10% of target computers we will try and find a solution for it.

IMPORTANT: Before you can apply Service Pack 2 you must apply Service Pack 1. Or make sure that you are using minimum Mediator 5.03 (see the CD-ROM disc).

* Service Pack 2, includes the Plugin.

  • Some sound cards does not support the MCI CD-Audio stop command. It caused the computer to hang when leaving test mode. This command has therefore been disabled.
  • In some occasions you could hear sound when initialising a video.
Mediator would crash if you right click in polygon edit mode before any nodes had been created.
  • Mediator will now use the text margin when formatting text in the text object.
  • @Date returned 100 instead of 00.
  • Special combinations of 32-bit color mode and effects could make Mediator crash.
  • Same as previous in runtime when using DirectX emulation.
  • Some graphic card does not support the DirectX Media video streaming mode in 32 bit color resolution. In this situation the 'Always on Top' option will be used.
  • The video 'Always on Top' mode would displace mouse events.

  • ODBC link to databases, when using Office 2000, is fixed.
  • From the 'Create Distribution files' you can now select to use DirectX emulation always.
Force the use of text anti-aliasing wether it is enabled or not.
  • Crash bug in some 24-bit screen modes.
  • Strange behaviour when returning from power-save mode.
  • Offset bug with hotspots.
  • More than 4 MP3 sound files on a page gives unpredictable play back.
  • Hotspot resource leak.
